About Me
“As a dedicated General Practitioner, my mission is to provide patient-centred care that prioritise the unique needs of each individual. I believe in creating a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels heard and respected. I am passionate about empowering individuals to take charge of their health through education, support, and open dialogue. My goal is to foster trust and collaboration, so together we can navigate your health journey effectively and compassionately.”
Dr Alison Ward is a warm, compassionate General Practitioner who tailors her care to suit each person’s unique needs. She has completed extra training in women’s, sexual, and reproductive health. She offers supportive, non-judgemental discussion around numerous areas including pregnancy options, medical terminations of pregnancy, PrEP, and menopause hormone therapy. She is skilled in contraceptive counselling and inserts and removes hormonal and copper intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Implanons. Dr Alison has a particular interest in managing polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), overactive bladder (urge incontinence or detrusor instability), and migraines.
Paediatrics is another of Dr Alison’s passions. She welcomes patients from newborns onward and has completed the Sydney Child Health Program. Six-week baby checks are among her favourite aspects of general practice! She has also completed training in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC – formerly known as the Possums program), which supports families in the early parenting years.
Dr. Alison is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and is deeply committed to providing safe, inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ individuals. She offers neurodivergent-friendly care, works in a neuroaffirming manner, and strives to create a respectful and patient-centred environment. She supports a Health At Every Size (HAES) approach to healthcare and is currently undertaking further training in gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT).
Dr. Alison is a good listener who values the importance of hearing her patients’ concerns and making sure they feel understood and supported throughout their healthcare journey. Outside of medicine, she enjoys crocheting, browsing op shops, and spending time with her niece and nephew.
